Julia Gaisbacher: From One Side to Another

Julia Gaisbacher explores life in Split 3, a modernist district of Split. She documents the decline of a socialist utopia due to land use dominated by unregulated market forces, including shopping centres and rampant traffic. In choosing her photographic perspectives, she draws on the perspectives of the residents. With this project, she continues her research into utopian and dystopian urban planning projects.
