Akademie Graz

Non-profit organisation for the mediation of art, culture and science

Akademie Graz is working interdisciplinary at the interface of art and society. It is dedicated to imparting critical reflections on socio-political issues. Therefore artistic productions and innovative mediation formats are developed. We do this especially in cooperation with (young) artists as well as with educational and social institutions in Styria.

Through rgional cooperations and internatinal networks Akademie Graz is kaleidoscopically present at various locations. The programs are mainly realized in Graz or in the Styria area.

Claudia Larcher. Less is more, more, more

In “Less is more, more more,” Claudia Larcher examines architecture as a powerful form of order: spaces shape perception, emotions, and approaches, reflecting political systems and social values. In her work, she moves through interior and urban spaces where absence is palpable and objects appear as witnesses to lived history. Digital collages create “other” spaces between reality and imagination, while sound, silence, and soundscapes reinforce the uncanny and make places acoustically tangible.
